About The CEO
Atsumasa Tochisako is the Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer of micromanos Corporation. Prior to founding micromanos, Mr. Tochisako spent 27 years in various operational and managerial positions with Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, including 12 years in four Latin American countries such as Mexico, Ecuador, Peru, and Panama. While he was working in Latin America, he had seen the situation that many poor people were working hard but were unable to improve their lives because the poverty and the lack of opportunity in the country. The experience inspired him to start a business which would grant hardworking people an opportunity to challenge for pursuing happiness. He retired from Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi as Chief Representative of its Washington, D.C. office in 2003, and started micromanos to support immigrants enabling them to access to stable and welcoming job opportunities.
With his extensive socially concerned activities helping immigrants, he received numerous prizes and appreciations from World renowned social organizations and foundations. Ashoka, a world leading organization that supports social entrepreneurs, appointed Mr. Tochisako as “Ashoka Global Fellow”, and Schwab Foundation of Switzerland awarded him as “Social Entrepreneur of the Year”
Mr. Tochisako received his M.B.A. from George Washington University, his B.A. in International Trade and Commerce from Doshisha University in Kyoto, Japan and studying at the Universidad de Guanajuato in Mexico. A native of Japan, he is fluent in Spanish, English, and Japanese.
His goal for micromanos is to help the newly arrived immigrant become gainfully employed as well as, to help US companies successfully create a socially diverse workforce.
